We are seeking volunteer docents to lead tours and greet visitors during the museum's open hours (Friday through Sunday from 12:00 - 4:00.) Docent shifts are two hours long, either 12-2 or 2-4. Days of the week can be arranged with the museum's volunteer coordinator.
If you have an appreciation for art and history and enjoy meeting new people, volunteering at the Cyrus Dallin Art Museum is a rewarding way to pursue these interests and provide a valuable public service. Volunteers are crucial to our daily operations. Being a docent requires a modest commitment of at least 4 hours per month. Cyrus Dallin was an educator and artist, a self-made man who embraced both his western frontier heritage and the cultural centers of Boston and Paris. He was a passionate advocate for social justice, particularly for America’s native peoples. His sculptures immortalize the ideals he admired; the dignity he saw in all individuals is expressed in his evocative sculptures.

The Mission of the Cyrus Dallin Art Museum is to promote new insights into our shared history by exploring the life, work, and values of the celebrated, Utah-born sculptor who lived and worked in Arlington, Massachusetts for over forty years. Guided by Dallin’s own values, we seek to provide experiences that enrich and inspire while promoting mutual respect, understanding, and empathy.

About the Cyrus Dallin Art Museum
The Cyrus Dallin Art Museum is dedicated to the celebrated Utah-born sculptor, educator, and Indigenous rights advocate, Cyrus Dallin, who lived and worked in Arlington, Massachusetts for over forty years. Best known for his Appeal to the Great Spirit in front of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the Paul Revere Monument in Boston's North End, Dallin's many public sculptures bring beauty and a unique perspective to shared spaces across the nation. By exploring Dallin’s art, life, and values through thoughtful exhibits and programs, the Dallin Museum seeks to promote a more inclusive understanding of history and mutual respect and empathy in our community.
