Cyrus Dallin Art Museum
- Arts & Culture
Location611 Massachusetts Ave.Arlington, MA 02474 United States
The mission of the Cyrus Dallin Art Museum is to promote new insights into our shared history by exploring the life, work, and values of this celebrated sculptor of Arlington, Massachusetts.
If you have an appreciation for art and history and enjoy meeting new people, volunteering at the Cyrus Dallin Art Museum is a rewarding way to pursue these interests and provide a valuable public service. Volunteers are crucial to our daily operations and help on a weekly, monthly or as-needed basis.
Cyrus Dallin was an educator and artist, a self-made man who embraced both his western frontier heritage and the cultural centers of Boston and Paris. He was a passionate advocate for social justice, particularly for America’s native peoples. His sculptures immortalize the ideals he admired; the dignity he saw in all individuals is expressed in his evocative sculptures.
Volunteer opportunities at the museum include:
1. Docents to lead tours and greet visitors during the museum's open hours (Wed-Sun 12-4)
2. Event Volunteers for special programs such as our annual Art on the Green, lectures, children's workshops, etc.
3. Museum Ambassadors to spread the word about CDAM, distribute marketing materials, and answer questions about the museum.
4. Associate Trustees who can lend their professional skills and expertise in areas such as Graphic Design, Museum Education, Marketing, Exhibit Design, Web Design, Database management, Advertising, Event Planning, etc. are also always desired.
Thank you for your interest. We'd love to meet you and talk about ways in which you would like to get involved. Please sign up so we can get started!
