Volunteers at work, getting ready to feed hungry people.

Community Lunch Volunteers

A team of volunteers assist staff to prepare and serve a nutritious meal including beverages using safe food handling practices. Volunteers also serve as mentors to trainees in food industry basics who are receiving job training and employment assistance. Hours are weekdays from 9:30 to 1:30 and volunteers typically work one day a week, but schedules are flexible. Volunteers must be able to stand for an extended period and lift dishes. Volunteers will need a valid food handler’s license or be willing to obtain one.

Clean-up Crew

A team is also needed to clean the area and wash dishes after completion of lunch.

Dining Room Prep

One volunteer is needed each morning to prepare dining tables, place napkins in dispensers, refill salt and pepper shakers, and refill utensil containers.
