WE ARE IN GREAT NEED TO PROCESS GRANTS TO HELP WITH OUR OPERATIONAL EXPENSES. DUE TO THE HIGH DEMAND OF OUR SERVICES, WE ARE FACING OUR OWN CRISIS DUE TO LACK OF FUNDS. WE CAN REALLY CAN USE SOMEONE THAT CAN HELP APPLY FOR GRANTS ONCE OR TWICE A WEEK.
Reaching Out Community Services was founded in 1992 to provide services and support to families in southwest Brooklyn. Reaching Out Community Services, Inc. reaches out to the community by providing food subsidies, referrals, and other services to families and individuals facing hardship. Working in partnership with other community organizations, Reaching Out fosters a caring atmosphere for the welfare of our community. We are dedicated to maintaining continuous growth in services to help our clients to improve their quality of life. Reaching-Out Community Services, Inc., is a 501c (3) non-profit volunteer program. We operate an emergency food pantry to bring relief to the struggling individuals and families in the Brooklyn community.
Reaching-Out Community Services operates as a supermarket- style program. It is designed so that our recipients are able to select food items based on their dietary needs. This program is one-of-a-kind in the Brooklyn area. There are several advantages for this type of this food pantry. It is more dignifying for the patrons who come to this program to get help with food. Instead of being handed a bag of random food goods, they are able to shop for themselves and select food, based on their dietary needs. This system has also been cost effective since we are able to receive and purchase food that will be consumed and not remain on our shelves to the point of expiration.There are many other programs we provide.
