Reaching-Out Community Services Inc.is a nonprofit outreach agency that provides food lothing, crisis intervention and referral services to individuals in need. With humanity and dignity, we endeavor to provide meaningful services and processes which can assist people who are hungry, homeless, or disadvantaged to improve the quality of their lives.
Description
Reaching-Out Community Services, Inc., is a 501c (3) non-profit volunteer program. We operate an emergency food pantry to bring relief to the struggling individuals and families in the Brooklyn community.
Reaching-Out Community Services operates as a supermarket- style program. It is designed so that our recipients are able to select food items based on their dietary needs. This program is one-of-a-kind in the Brooklyn area. There are several advantages for this type of this food pantry. It is more dignifying for the patrons who come to this program to get help with food. Instead of being handed a bag of random food goods, they are able to shop for themselves and select food, based on their dietary needs. This system has also been cost effective since we are able to receive and purchase food that will be consumed and not remain on our shelves to the point of expiration.There are many other programs we provide.
