ORGANIZATION: Riverside County- RSVP Program

Join our team as a Volunteer RSVP Advisory Council Member and contribute to the success and growth of our Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with community leaders, advocate for volunteerism among seniors, and provide valuable insights to enhance our program's impact.

Advisory Council Member:

  • Attend regular meetings (quarterly) to discuss program goals, initiatives, and challenges.
  • Provide input and recommendations on strategies to recruit, retain, and recognize senior volunteers.
  • Share expertise and insights on engaging seniors in meaningful volunteer opportunities that align with their interests and skills.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of outreach and marketing campaigns to promote the RSVP program within the community.
  • Collaborate with program staff to identify opportunities for partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and government agencies.
  • Serve as a liaison between program participants, volunteers, and program staff, conveying feedback and suggestions for improvement.
  • Participate in special projects or subcommittees focused on specific program areas, such as volunteer training, event planning, or fundraising.
  • Conduct site visits to volunteer placement stations to assess volunteer experiences, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist in collecting performance measures surveys from volunteer stations to assess program effectiveness and impact.
  • Stay informed about relevant trends, research, and best practices in volunteer management and senior engagement.
  • Uphold the values and mission of the RSVP program, promoting inclusivity, diversity, and a culture of respect and appreciation for volunteers of all backgrounds.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for volunteerism and community service, particularly among seniors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including volunteers, staff, and community partners.
  • Commitment to attending meetings and actively participating in council activities.
  • Experience in volunteer management, nonprofit leadership, or related fields preferred but not required.
  • Respect for confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
  • Willingness to undergo any required background checks or training.
