Looking for people who will assist greater Bath area elderly residents in their homes (Bath, Hammondsport, Avoca, Savona volunteers are needed.)
Volunteers may choose from any number of opportunities on a long or short term basis. Volunteers are needed to transport those that can no longer drive to a doctor in town; pick up groceries or prescriptions; provide light housework or yard work as needed; or simply be a friendly visitor to a housebound neighbor. Assistance can be a one-time event as requested, or as an ongoing regular assignment as the volunteers prefers. Mileage reimbursement available.

Volunteers make a difference!
AmeriCorps Seniors of Steuben County provides opportunities for people ages 55 and over to make a significant impact in their communities through volunteering. Volunteers contribute anywhere from a few hours a month to over 40 hours a week serving in their communities. Opportunities to serve include volunteering at local hospitals and nursing homes, schools, food pantries, public safety programs, and other nonprofit agencies and organizations. RSVP staff assist volunteers in sharing their experience, abilities and skills for the betterment of the community and themselves. Volunteer orientation, on-site training, supplemental insurance (while on duty), and mileage reimbursement are free services available for RSVP volunteers.
