Hospice Compassus is seeking active military personnel, veterans and interested civilians to provide companionship, and support to military veterans on our hospice service through our Vet-to Vet volunteer program. A veteran may have unique miliary needs at the end of life; needs that are influenced by how the patient entered the military, any combat experience, and finally the veteran's branch and rank.
Opportunities Include:
- Participation in Veterasn Pinning Ceremonies
- Providing Companionship, and Support to the Veteran Patients
- Providing Support to Caregivers
The volunteer will receive patient care orienation, and additionally introduction to our Vet-to-Vet volunteer program. The training is free, and can be sceduled around the volunteer's availablity.
We provide support for our patients in the following counties: (Montgomery, Bucks, Philadelphia).
Please reach to our volunteer coordinator Kathleen OConnor (215 557 7300) who would be available to answer any questions, and explain the onboarding process to become a volunteer.

Hospice care is a type of healthcare that aims to reduce suffering and promote comfort at the end of and promote comfort at the end of an individual's life. Pain and any other symptoms are managed around the clock, and the hospice team focuses greatly on spiritual and emotional health as well.
The foundation of hospice includes nursing care with an emphasis on managing symptoms, practical assistance, and emotional support. Caring for a loved one at home can be challenging. Our goal is to provide timely services to help your family make the most of your time together.
