We are recruting for certified pet therapy dogs, and cats to bring smiles to our patients! The pet therapy volunteer can brighten the day of so many patients, and their family members. The volunteer pet therapy team is required to thave their animal certified. The volunteer coordinator can assist the volunteer in finding certification programs. Hospice Compassus provides training on how to work with people at the end of life. The volunteer provides the talent, compassion, and time. The patient assignments are made according to the volunteer's time, and location. The patient may reside either in a residence or long-term care facility. Hospice Compassus is looking for musical volunteers who are able to play musical instruments and/or sing for our hospice patients either at patients home, in the hospital or in long-term care facilities. We have found sometimes what a hospice patient needs most is a way to expresss feelings without talking. The volunteer by playing or singing their favorite song or hymns can help patients and families reconnect with feelings and memories that can bring about a sense of peace and happiness. Hospice Compassus provides training on how to work with people at the end stage of life. The volunteer provides the talent, compassion, and time. The volunteer assignments are made according to the volunteer's time and location. Hospice Compassus will provide you the training and support to explore career options while making a true difference in the lives of others ! A student will have an opportunity to learn about utilizing a holistic approach to patient care, collobrating with the volunteer coordinator. The student will also have the opportunity to have direct interactions with patients, and families ! Hospice is about giving comfort and hope through improving quality of life during an individuals's last months of life. If you have a heart full of compassion, we would love to speak with you about either visiting with some of our patients, or assisting within the office. This office from hospice compassus coverage areas are in Bucks, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties. Please contact volunteer coordinator Kathleen OConnor (215 350 6139).
