As a volunteer/intern, you will report to the foundation's board of directors and, largely, will be responsible for managing the accounting records and donations of the foundation.

Responsibilities include:

  • developing the financial reports for the board and executive committee meetings
  • assisting in determining the financial status of the foundation and analyzing forecast results
  • monitoring foundation donations and giving, including board member giving
  • assisting in resolution of accounting discrepancies, where applicable
  • assisting with annual foundation tax filings
  • assisting in drafting and monitoring status of grant applications, where applicable
  • performing other duties as requested by the Executive Director and/or Board

Qualitifications:

  • Must be a current college student majoring in accounting, finance, or related fields or already have a degree in these fields
  • Experience with Excel or other spreadsheets is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong willingness to learn about accounting and nonprofits
