Join us as a Food Rescue Volunteer and help make a difference in our community! We need one or two dedicated volunteers every Monday from 9:30am to 12:30pm to assist with picking up food donations from our food partners. Volunteers will need a valid driver’s license and will be responsible for picking up a rental truck from Penske in St. Pete, FL. The shift involves driving to our food donors, Sysco in Bradenton and Brick Street Farms in St. Pete, and collecting the donations. Your efforts will directly help us keep fresh food out of the landfill and provide nutritious meals to our neighbors in need.

About 360 EATS

Location:

3100 TEAL TER, SAFETY HARBOR, FL 34695, US

Mission Statement

360 Eats' mission is to create a just and sustainable food system where no one goes hungry and no food is wasted.

Description

360 Eats is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit mobile food service providing an innovative solution to bridge the gaps between food waste, food insecurity, and sustainability. In Pinellas County, food waste is the second largest category of waste. Meanwhile, thousands of families and individuals are struggling with food insecurity.

Our Solution

Saving Food: The Saving Food program rescues good food from going to waste by collecting excess food from businesses, organizations, and individuals through our mobile Food Rescue team and volunteers.

Sustain-A-Bowl: Our Sustain-A-Bowl program transforms surplus food into nutritious gourmet meals for those less fortunate. Partnering with a licensed commissary kitchen and professional chefs, we prepare and distribute these meals directly to those in need via our Sustain-A-Bowl food truck.

Sprouting Food: The Sprouting Food program turns food scraps into compost to grow more food in affected communities. Partnerships with local community gardens help us achieve a zero-waste system.

Culinary Cultivator: To enhance food security, we offer paid internships to individuals facing employment barriers, allowing them to pursue culinary careers. Over six months, interns gain skills and experience by working closely with our chefs in a commercial kitchen and aboard our food truck.
