About Us:
Not Defined By FND is a newly founded (April 2024) nonprofit organization dedicated to ending stigma, raising awareness, advocating for research and treatments, and fostering conversations to bring necessary change and hope for all individuals affected by Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). Through education, advocacy, and community engagement, we empower those impacted by FND and work to ensure a more informed and supportive society.
Volunteer Role:
We are seeking passionate and dedicated volunteers to support our advocacy and research initiatives. As a Nonprofit Policy & Compliance Volunteer, you will play a vital role in ensuring our organization remains compliant with laws and regulations, developing petitions, and assisting with policy and procedure creation to drive meaningful change for the FND community. As we are new and are still learning the rules and regulations of the nonprofit world, we need someone who can help to ensure we maintain compliance.
Responsibilities:
Research laws, regulations, and policies relevant to nonprofit compliance and FND advocacy.
Assist in drafting and reviewing petitions to influence legislative and policy changes.
Support the creation of organizational policies and procedures to ensure legal and operational compliance.
Help develop policies for the organization, including website terms/conditions, store policies, and other necessary documentation.
Compile and analyze data to strengthen advocacy efforts.
Collaborate with team members to develop educational materials for community awareness.
Engage in outreach efforts to connect with policymakers, researchers, and healthcare professionals.
Qualifications:
- Experience with policy research, legal studies, or nonprofit compliance (preferred but not required).
Passionate about advocating for individuals affected by Functional Neurological Disorder (FND).
Strong research and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar tools.
