Mission Statement

Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation is a private, independent, 501(c)(3) nonprofit that strives to enhance the quality of life for all citizens of Reno, Sparks, and Washoe County by ensuring the long-term sustainability and improvement of our parks. We accomplish this by offering park-based educational and recreational programs designed to increase community-wide awareness, appreciation, and stewardship of our parks.

Description

Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation is a private, non-profit organization committed to raising awareness and appreciation of parks and open spaces through in-park, experiential programs offered free of cost to all citizens. Programs operating under our Healthy Parks Healthy People: Truckee Meadows initiative are designed to heighten environment consciousness, help economically underserved students find academic success, and provide engaging and meaningful outdoor experiences for some of the most vulnerable citizens in the Reno-Sparks area.

Goals:
-Provide innovative park-based programs for families, community, groups, and schools.
-Cultivate awareness, appreciation, and stewardship of our parks.
-Inspire citizens to take a proactive volunteer role in the preservation and improvement of our parks.
-Serve as fiscal sponsorship for community-led initiatives to enhance park infrastructure.
