Position: SUN Summer Support Volunteer- Meadows Elementary School

Program Area: Schools Uniting Neighborhoods (SUN)

Location: In person at Meadows Elementary School ( 18009 SE Brooklyn St, Portland, OR 97236 )

Schedule: July 8th- July 26 th. 11am- 3pm. Monday- Friday

Program Description: IRCO’s School-Based Programs support youth and families through site-specific community school services. We support children, youth and families through their neighborhood schools by providing a rich array of extended day programming, food and resource support, Kindergarten readiness, parent leadership, and family engagement. Our 20 SUN Community Schools serve as resource hubs across Multnomah County empowering communities through their schools.

Position Summary: A s a volunteer, you will assist with classroom activities, support teachers, and help supervise recess, ensuring a smooth and enriching experience for all. If you have expertise in soccer, sciences, arts, or any other special skills, your talents will be a fantastic addition to our program. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals eager to contribute to creating memorable experiences for our young students, making a lasting impact on their educational journey.

Qualifications:

· Experience working with youth or an interest in working with youth.

· Adaptable.

· Special skills in subjects such as teaching sports, arts or sciences a plus.

Time Commitment: The summer program will run from July 8th- July 26th

Requirements:

· Must be 18 or older

· Must pass background check
