Position: RESJ FACES In-Home Tutoring (Pre-K - 5 th Grade) Program Area: RESJ FACES (Racial Equity and Social Justice Family and Community Engagement Services) Location: In person at the homes of families from selected Portland Public Elementary Schools. Schedule: Must have availability during evenings and after-school hours. Volunteers must commit to working a minimum of 1-2 hours per week for at least 8 weeks (about 2 months). Program Description: RESJ FACES programming provides racial equity and social justice-centered, community minded, culturally dynamic, multilingual/multicultural support to African, Asian, Pacific Islander and Slavic Immigrant and Refugee families, caregivers, and students. Position Summary: The RESJ FACES program seeks dedicated, responsible, and culturally mindful volunteers to support Pre-K through 5th grade Immigrant and Refugee students with academic and culturally specific activities at selected schools in the Portland Public School District. An interview, orientation and background check are required. Qualifications: Have a passion for helping students achieve their goals. Commitment to working with diverse populations and non-native English speakers. Fluency in any of the following languages is helpful, but not a requirement: Vietnamese, Somali, Maay-Maay, Tongan or Russian language. Provide academic support to Pre K-5th grade students in math and literacy. Interest in participating in "in-home tutoring" and or "group activities" that support family connection, cultural identity, wellness and wellbeing and cultural sharing within the larger school community. Ability to build good relationships with students and parents to pursue the students' academic goals. Position: Food Pantry Support Volunteer Program Area: Hunger Relief Locations and schedules: Oliver P Lent Elementary School - 5105 SE 97th Ave, Portland, OR 97266 - Mondays 1:00-5:00pm Earl Boyles - 10822 SE Bush St, Portland, OR 97266 - Tuesdays 1:00 -5:15pm Mill Park Elementary School - 1900 SE 117th Ave, Portland, OR 97216 - Tuesdays 1:00 -5:15pm Parkrose Middle School - 11800 NE Shaver St, Portland, OR 97220 - Thursdays 2:00-5:15pm Menlo Park Elementary School - 12900 NE Glisan St, Portland, OR 97230 - Thursday 12:00-4:00pm Program Description: TheHunger Relief program works with the Oregon Food bank and other organizations to help support people and communities facing food insecurity in Portland. We currently support 16 food pantries in the Portland Metro Area and reach approx. 600 people per week. Position Summary: The primary audiences that the volunteer will be serving are immigrants, refugees, and low-income families in our school communities. We prioritize volunteers who can commit to an ongoing, regular schedule. Food pantry volunteers will be assisting with the following tasks including but not limited to: Load and unload food truck deliveries. Sort and bag produce and other food items. Set up tables for food items and organize items as directed. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked pantry free of debris at end of volunteer shift. Help to move and organize food to prepare the pantry for families that shop. Welcome and interact with shoppers in a friendly manner. Help shoppers understand and follow quantity limits to ensure all families have equal access. Training will be provided to volunteers through videos and while performing tasks. Qualifications: No previous experience required. Multilingual candidates are welcomed to apply - ability to speak Standard Chinese/ Mandarin is a huge asset as many of the shoppers are from this community. Have effective communication skills. Be a team player, collaborate well with others, and demonstrate a positive attitude. Be punctual, follow directions well, and carry out the commitments of the position. Follow all food health and safety guidelines and requirements. Maintain food preparation tools, including cleaning and disinfecting instruments and equipment before and after use. Time Commitment: We are looking for dedicated volunteers that can commit to 1 day a week for a minimum commitment of 3 months. Position: Mill Park Elementary SUN Extended Day Program Volunteer Program Area: Schools Uniting Neighborhoods (SUN Community Schools) Location: Mill Park Elementary - 1900 SE 177th Ave, Portland, OR 97216 Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday from 3:30pm - 5:30pm. Program Description: Mill Park SUN programs serve to support Mill Park Elementary students and families through academic partnerships, extended day programming, and wrap around services. Volunteers at Mill Park are integral to the well-being of our community. Whether it is leading reading groups, running a chess club, or serving food and drink at one of our community events, IRCO volunteers partnered with Mill Park make direct connections with students, families, and staff for positive community outcomes. Current Mill Park SUN program operations include SUN School Extended Day Programming, Mill Park Food Pantry. Position Summary: Mill Park’s SUN Extended Day Program provides enrichment and academic services to enrolled Mill Park Elementary students. Volunteers will be involved with facilitating small-groups and classes through activities such as Open Gym, Cooking, Arts and Crafts and many more! Mill Park volunteers will regularly engage in face-to-face communication with students and/or parents. Volunteers work under a SUN Site Manager. Volunteers may facilitate groups and classes depending on program needs. Volunteers may help students with academics, math, science, and literacy lessons, as well as with group games and activities. Our school is looking for volunteers that are culturally diverse and responsive, with a strong capacity to listen and grow with our students. Volunteers should have an interest in early childhood education. Qualifications High School degree or equivalent is preferred. Experience working in the field may be considered as equivalent. Bilingual/bicultural applicants are encouraged to apply. Enthusiastic attitude and passion for education. Sensitivity and ability to relate to people from diverse lifestyles, socioeconomic levels, and cultures. Those with interest in cooking instruction must provide up-to-date Food Handler’s Certification. Time Commitment: Volunteers facilitating groups will be expected to commit at least 8 weeks per term, with a 1 day/week minimum requirement of attendance. Volunteers may choose one or multiple terms they would like to volunteer for (spring, summer, winter, fall). Program days run from 3:30 - 5:30pm, Monday - Thursday. Senior Services programming is a bridge between our refugee/immigrant elders and mainstream society connecting elders to resources in the community and encouraging independence. The congregate mealsite is a popular program with elders as it serves to diminish social isolation while providing culturally specific nutrition. The Meal-Site Assistant should have enthusiasm, patience and resourcefulness for working with elder refugee populations. As the program has just resumed in person congregate meals, the volunteer should be flexible and patient as the program resumes and gains momentum. Volunteer duties include assisting staff in preparing meals, serving coffee/tea, helping to set up/clean up the community room, and assisting staff with program details as they come up. A willingness to occasionally drive to pick up food from vendors is also appreciated.

Volunteering as a photographer with IRCO is the place for you. With over 200 programs, IRCO always has events and activities our staff would love to capture through your lens! We are seeking volunteer photographers with an eye on equity and diversity, who are self-motivated and energized to support our photography needs. Responsibilities: * Sign Artist Agreement and complete background check. * Collect photos at events and other IRCO photo requests for IRCO usage. o Coverage should include a mix of candids and action shots as well as occasional portraits, as appropriate. We want you to help tell a story through your photos! * Work with Volunteer Team and Event Coordinator at IRCO events to ensure clients have photo releases. * Deliver photographs to Volunteer Team at volunteer@irco.org. o High-resolution JPEGs and original RAW files preferred. If you have time to edit and color grade your photos, that's great too!
