Nativity House Shelter is looking for volunteer groups to help host "Movie Night" at Nativity House Shelter.

Our staff team has access to a projector and large projector screen but needs volunteer groups to provide movie snacks and volunteer support for set up, clean up and hospitality during the film.

We will work with groups to plan dates and times that work for everyone. This may mean that we offer "Movie Maintinees" instead of "Movie Nights". We can also break the event into smaller shifts.

The Basics

  • Everyone must be at least 18 years old to volunteer onsite
  • Everyone must be background checked using Washington State Patrol (WATCH) & NSOPW. Background checks are processed at no cost to volunteers.
  • Everyone must sign a Covid-19 liability waiver to be able to volunteer
  • Anyone working with food will be required to wear gloves
  • All group members must adhear to client confidentiality rules which will be covered before groups come out to serve.
  • Groups that want to include kids can coordinate an offsite projects like packing movie snacks for shelter guests and making decorations.

In joining with others to change systems that oppress, discriminate or otherwise cause human suffering. Employees and volunteers should work in an environment that fosters respect, teamwork and excellence. Description

Volunteer Services provides low-income adults (anyone 18 years old or older) who have temporary or permanent functional disabilities, including those associated with aging. The people we serve can not afford to purchase the kinds of service we provide, do not qualify for assistance from other sources and do not have family or friends available to help them. Service is provided on an as-volunteers-are-available basis. There are never any fees for the services provided.
