Purpose:

The Regional Coordinator for the International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Youth Action Campaign (YAC) oversees the program at a regional level. This role involves educating youth aged 13-24 about IHL and empowering them to develop and lead peer-to-peer awareness campaigns on IHL topics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit teams of youth IHL advocates from your region to participate in the program.
  • Implement IHL training for youth teams and assist them in designing their campaigns on IHL topics.
  • Dedicate 2-4 hours per week to support youth teams during the campaign implementation.
  • Manage youth registration, campaign evaluation, supply procurement, and the selection process for attendees of the annual summit in Washington, DC.
  • Report campaign metrics and data to regional staff promptly.
  • Communicate with Divisional Leadership as needed.
  • Participate in monthly calls during the program's implementation.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Enthusiasm for engaging with youth and a keen interest in International Humanitarian Law (IHL).
  • Proficiency in project management, group facilitation, and communication.
  • Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, initiative, and teamwork.
  • Ability to present politicized topics per the American Red Cross's neutrality mandate.
  • Experience working with youth, the Red Cross, and knowledge of IHL is preferred.
  • Willingness to adhere to current public health and Red Cross policies.
