Are you passionate about music and compassionate towards others? Join our volunteer team to bring comfort and joy to our hospice patients through the power of music! Bristol Hospice Dallas is seeking dedicated volunteers to provide music performances and companionship to our patients.
You will have the opportunity to perform for patients in their homes, long-term care facilities, or nursing homes. Requirements include the following:
- Background and reference checks
- TB Testing
- 12 hours of online training and orientation (We will train you on everything you need to know to become a successful volunteer!)
- Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to volunteer directly with our patients, but those under 18 years old will need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian who is also a volunteer
Your volunteer time is flexible and valued! When you are a part of the Bristol Volunteer Team, youn receive training, support, a network of fellow volunteers and staff, and the knowledge that you have comforted someone in their final journey with your musical talent.

Description
Bristol Hospice Dallas provides hospice services to meet the physical, psycho-social, and spiritual needs of individuals at the end of life. We focus on an individualized plan of care which may include, as appropriate, the following services: nursing, physicians, hospice aides, spiritual support, therapy, dietary, counseling, volunteers, durable medical equipment, supplies, bereavement services and medications related to terminal illness.
Volunteers are an important part of the hospice model. Volunteers provide special compassionate presence and support to our patients and family in ways that only a volunteer can. When a volunteer visits a patient, they are visiting the patient because they want to be there. It's not a job or an obligation. That is a powerful action for our patients and families!
