The YACPA committee will work together to educate and raise awareness about parrots in captivity among children and other young adults promoting improving the parrot's outcomes within our homes. They will also seek social and legislative changes regarding parrot welfare in the state of Georgia starting at the county levels. Young people who join the committee will learn about the true state of parrot welfare, well-being, and overall care and maintenance that is constantly evolving as new research is released. Mission Statement

Papayago Rescue House, Inc. will exist to support the well-being and maintenance of exotic birds, namely parrots, and their people families that require intervention and/or support services to thrive. Papayago Rescue House, Inc. will act in a not-for-profit manner to target parrots for rescue, rehabilitation, and re-homing. To better serve the 3rd largest pet community in the world, we will work with bird owners to increase their knowledge, provide mentoring and training to coping with parrot ownership to lessen the need for parrot owners to give up their birds. The community will be better supported to maintain the birds in their care to reduce how often birds are re-homed or placed in community facilities not equipped to handle bird requirements and behavior.
