About Us: Papayago Rescue House, a 501(c)(3) parrot rescue supports the well-being and maintenance of parrots in our community through rescue, rehabilitation, retraining, and rehoming. We provide mentoring, training, and support to parrot owners, promoting successful family bonding and decreasing surrenders. We provide a rescue environment specifically adapted for parrots, decreasing the need for birds to be placed at facilities not equipped to handle bird requirements and behavior. Our work with birds and bird owners helps us to decrease the problems of parrot homelessness, abuse, or neglect as well through minimizing the release of unwanted parrots into the local environment, with their unknown impact on native birds and habitats, reducing the economic impact of these birds on local government entities. Position Description: We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to join our fundraising team. As a volunteer fundraiser, you will play a crucial role in helping us raise funds to support our mission and programs. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in nonprofit fundraising while making a meaningful difference in the lives of parrots. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in planning and organizing fundraising events and campaigns. - Identify and cultivate potential donors and sponsors. - Reach out to individuals, businesses, and community organizations to solicit donations and sponsorships. - Assist in writing sponsorship packages. - Help maintain donor databases and track fundraising progress. - Collaborate with team members to brainstorm new fundraising ideas and strategies. Qualifications: - Passion for our organization's mission and commitment to making a positive impact. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Strong organizational and time management abilities. - Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. - Previous experience in fundraising or sales is a plus but not required. Time Commitment: Flexible scheduling with a minimum commitment of 3 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend availability may be required for events and meetings. We’re seeking a dedicated individual who is passionate about animal welfare and has a knack for handyperson tasks. This volunteer position offers the opportunity to work in a rewarding environment surrounded by parrots. It’s crucial to treat our parrots and people with kindness and respect at all times. We do not tolerate any form of rough handling or mistreatment. We are seeking individuals who share our commitment to compassionate care. Responsibilities: Handyman Work: Perform general maintenance tasks around the rescue, including putting together new cages, repairing existing cages. Assist with basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work as needed. Help the rescue be aware of impending issues or concerns that we can proactively address. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition. Help with basic upkeep such as painting, caulking, rinsing out HVAC filters, air filters, blowing front of rescue of any debris, cleaning the pavement, replacing batteries, dusting security cameras. Contribute to a safe and healthy environment for the birds! Collaboration and Communication: Schedule, liaise, and follow up with vendors needed for maintenance of our facilities. Work collaboratively with other volunteers to ensure smooth operations at the rescue. Communicate effectively with the Executive Director regarding maintenance plans, scheduling, needs, and any issues that arise. Qualifications: Previous experience working around animals is ideal. The willingness to learn and adapt is essential. Handyperson skills and experience in maintenance work is necessary. Ability to lift and carry semi heavy objects (such as a 12 foot ladder) and perform physical tasks in various weather conditions but the majority of work is inside. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. Passion for animal welfare and a commitment to the mission of Papayago Rescue House. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Schedule: Retired or semi retired would be ideal. Approximately 5 to 10 hours per week.

A Development Director’s responsibilities include having experience leading major gift programs at organizations or schools because we know it takes more than money if you want your ideas fulfilled. Ultimately, you will work to help grow the organization and increase donorship throughout the year. Responsibilities Collaborate with the board of directors to create and implement a fundraising plan that supports the budget and vice versa. Maintain relationships with existing sponsors with the help of the organization Obtain financial support from individuals and organizations with the support of the organization Manage fundraising committee and special events Generate development materials such as grants and case statements Access to and input on the budget Requirements and skills Proven work experience as a Development Director or similar role Superb written and verbal communication skills to speak with donors and other stakeholders across the organization Work with fundraising software and tools to track progress throughout the year (no tools selected yet) Good organizational and time management skills to help keep projects on track

Experience: 1 or more years of progressive experience in stewardship or fundraising development OR nonprofit development certification or education Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Superb writing and editing skills. Communicates clearly, both orally and in writing. Experience working with other volunteers and donors Understands development concepts and the importance of specific roles to a successful fundraising program; knowledge of fundraising processes and donor-centric relationship-based development activities. Loves talking to people in person or on the phone. Proficient with Google tools, learn others such as Canva, Quickbooks, etc. Maintaining and oversight of donor database and all associated communications, including gift entry, thank you letters, list generation, etc. Proven strategic thinker who understands the larger goals of the organization and helps find ways to ensure that stewardship efforts align strategically with some creative TLC. Preferences: Appreciation for and/or experience with animal welfare. Values collaboration and is also able to work independently. Ability to gather and analyze data effectively. Experience with working with talented staff.
