ORGANIZATION: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

Visitor assistance, work a gatehouse, check in and out visitors, area security, open and shut gates, assist visitors computer reservations, check recreation area for rules compliance, work with park ranger staff, etc.


Volunteers must be 21 years or older; be required to work at least 25 hours per week, per site, Must be capable of lifting at least 30lbs or more, be physically and mentally capable of performing volunteer tasks; ability to navigate terrain safely, capable of talking to the public a plus, experience assisting visitors a plus. Must pass a federal background check.


Park hosts will be required to work a 10 am until 8 pm schedule, every Tuesday and Wednesday in a busy campground and gatehouse. Park hosts will assist visitors with reservations, checking visitors in and out of the campground, issuing parking passes, provide information and visitor assistance. The park hosts will also be responsible for patrolling the park daily checking for rules compliance and parking issues. Volunteers will work closely with uniformed Park Rangers and an other volunteers and park attendant staff. Volunteers will be required to run credit cards but will not be collecting any cash payments.


Volunteers are required to complete 25 hours of service each week per site. A full hookup campsite (water, electric, sewer) will be provided at Victoria Campground next door.
