You will have the opportunity to work independently as well as collaboratively with our Volunteer Team, and you will play a key role in ensuring that our nonprofit recruits the best volunteers.

Responsibilities:

  • Refine and critique our current volunteer online postings, our volunteer page on our website, our current recruitment strategies, and our volunteer position descriptions to better advertise to prospective volunteers.
  • Research, brainstorm, and strategize new ways to recruit volunteers (or advertise for our openings) digitally and through print materials.
  • Regularly consult and brainstorm with Volunteer Coordinators; provide regular updates to Volunteer Coordinators.
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively with Volunteer Coordinators and other volunteers.
  • Document all recruitment processes and activities.
  • Gain an understanding of Trellis and the Senior Linkage Line and our services by watching videos and browsing the Trellis website/social media.

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid United States social security number for our background check.
  • Time management, organizational, and communication skills are essential.
  • Strong computer skills. Being comfortable with using Microsoft Suite (primarily Teams, Outlook, and Word), navigating web browsers, emailing, talking on the phone, video chats, and familiarity with social media (primarily LinkedIn and Facebook).
  • Creativity and curiosity; we welcome new ideas and strategies!
  • Self-motivation and proactivity.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of older adults, persons with disabilities, and other diverse populations
  • Professional/volunteer experience or education in recruitment, marketing, advertising, communication, HR, social media, etc.
  • Have your own computer with internet access. We will provide you with a Microsoft office account.
  • Compliance with agency’s non-conflict of interest, confidentiality, and other policies
  • We ask for either a resume or a URL to your LinkedIn to learn more about your professional, volunteer, and educational history.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check

Time Investment:

  • This position is 100% remote, and recruitment volunteers make their own schedules.
  • Recruitment volunteers are expected to volunteer about 2 hours per week, and they are expected to check in with a volunteer coordinator once a week (either through email, video chat, or voice chat).
  • Volunteer for as long as you want to! This could be a long-term volunteer relationship or if could be for a few months. Let us know what kind of commitment works for you.

100% remote.
