ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - National Headquarters

This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Archives team within the Communications (COMM) department. This position reports in person to the National Headquarters office located in Washington, D.C. at 431 18th street, NW. The position provides support for collections management, exhibition planning, historical research requests, and tours.

Responsibilities:

The Archives team is seeking volunteers to help with the National Headquarters historical collection located at Red Cross Square at 431 18th street, NW in Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities include cataloging the historical collections comprised of artifacts, photos, and documents, responding to historical inquiries about the Red Cross and supporting the Red Cross tour program

REQUIRED:

  • High level of attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word
  • Interest in history
  • Ability and comfort with working independently
  • Submission of resume
  • Willingness to comply with current public health and Red Cross policies

Preferred:

- Knowledge of American history

-Museum, collections, or art handling experience
