ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - National Headquarters

This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Multicultural Communications (COMM) department. A Volunteer Partner serves as a peer and confidante working collaboratively with a Red Cross leader to achieve Red Cross goals and objectives. This role is primarily focused on managing technological and translation processes. The partner will handle document management, translation assignments, and technology-driven initiatives, ensuring smooth operational flow within the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Multicultural Communications Manager in achieving the department's goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the operations of translation projects to ensure timely and accurate completion of translated documents.
  • Provide technological support by utilizing translation and document management systems, and advanced technology solutions.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of translation projects, providing updates and insights to the Multicultural Communications Manager.
  • Schedule and assign tasks to volunteers, aiming for balanced workloads and optimal productivity within the team.
  • Offer ongoing remote support during staff absences and manage ongoing projects to completion.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Deep commitment to the Red Cross mission and familiarity with its programs.
  • Advanced proficiency in translation management software and other technological tools.
  • Ability to inspire and support volunteers to ensure productivity and rewarding experiences.
  • Capable of efficiently handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, with effective communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and adaptability in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to facilitate clear communication and project coordination.
