STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program that specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

Description:
As a STEM Program Affiliate Ambassador, you will play a crucial role in advocating for STEM education and programming. Your primary responsibility will be to spread awareness about upcoming STEM programs through various channels such as social media, WhatsApp, and email. This volunteer position offers you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in promoting STEM education while also providing potential benefits for your efforts.

Duties:

  • Be an ambassador for STEM education and advocate for the importance of STEM education and its impact on future generations.
  • Spread the word about upcoming programs by utilizing social media platforms, WhatsApp groups, and email newsletters to inform your network about upcoming STEM programs and initiatives.
  • Engage with potential participants by answering inquiries and engaging with individuals interested in participating in STEM programs, providing them with necessary information and direction to relevant websites when needed.
  • Collaborate with program organizers to ensure accurate dissemination of information and to align advocacy efforts with program goals.
  • Monitor and report outreach efforts and report the effectiveness of different communication channels and strategies.

Qualifications:

  • A genuine enthusiasm for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields is essential. You should believe in the importance of STEM education and its potential to empower future generations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary to effectively convey information about STEM programs to a diverse audience. You should be comfortable crafting engaging social media posts, and emails, and responding to inquiries.
  • Familiarity with popular social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter is a plus. The ability to create content and engage with followers on these platforms would be beneficial.
  • A strong existing network of contacts or the ability to build relationships with potential program participants is valuable. This could include connections with schools, community groups, or online communities interested in STEM.
  • Comfort with using email marketing platforms or social media scheduling tools is a benefit.
  • The ability to dedicate a few hours per week to outreach and communication activities is required.
