Special Olympics Florida is excited to be hosting the State Volleyball Championships on September 13th & 14th!

Volunteers are needed to assist with the following roles:

  • Keep score on assigned court and relay scores to competition management team.
  • Serve as a line judge to assist officials in calling out of bounds shots.
  • Prepare and present awards to athletes following competition.
  • Distribute lunch to volunteers and delegation members.

A knowledge of the sport is not required and all training will be provided on-site prior to the start of competition. Volunteers are provided a Special Olympics Florida T-shirt as well as lunch during their shift. A record of community service hours can be provided upon request.

Description

Special Olympics Florida provides sports training and Olympic-style competition to more than 60,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and developmental disabilities throughout the state. Special Olympics Florida is a Level I Accredited Program (highest level of accreditation granted by SOI) and is divided into 11 area programs, which cover over 55 counties.
