Special Olympics Florida athletes will compete in Area 3 & 4 Flag Football & Softball on Saturday, September 21. Volunteers are needed to help with competition assistance, lunch distribution, awards and more. Please plan to stay the entire shift. Softball Scorekeeping volunteers must have prior knowledge/experience in softball. Flag football Scorekeeping volunteers must have prior knowledge/experience in football. Volunteers will receive: Special Olympics T-Shirt Record of Community Service Hours (Upon Request) Lunch

Special Olympics Florida will be hosting the 2024 Area 5 Fall Classic at Cypress Creek High School on Saturday, September 21 We need Volunteers to assist with the following activities: Setup of the Venue Assist with Lunch/Logistics Assist with the Flag Football Competition Assist with the Pickleball Competition Assist with the Powerlifting Competition Assist with the Softball Competition Volunteers are also encouraged to stay all day to assist with the event as needed and help Cheer our Athletes to Victory .

Special Olympics Florida is excited to be hosting the State Fall Classic on November 8th & 9th at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex! Volunteers can register for the below opportunities: Set-up Assistant: Help get the event ready the day prior to competition. Help unload vehicles, organize and distribute items throughout the complex, place out signage, etc. **Should have ability to lift 25lbs** Lunch Assistant: Assist with distributing lunch to athletes and volunteers. Registration Assistant: Assist with checking in and organizing volunteers prior to competition. Sports Volunteers - Flag Football, Gymnastics, Pickleball, Powerlifting, Softball & Softball Skills: Help with multiple aspects of competition including checking in athletes, escorting them to/from the fields of play, scorekeeping, managing equipment, etc. Some volunteers in this role will also assist with preparing and presenting awards to athletes. Healthy Athletes: Check-in Athletes, play games and distribute prizes as athlete's complete their multiple health screenings at Healthy Athletes. Contact us at Volunteer@SOFL.org to register for the following opportunities: Powerlifting Spotters & Loaders: Assist with lifting weights on and off of the bars for athletes during competition and warm-up. Serve as safety spotters for athletes when lifting. *Must have the ability to repeatedly lift at least 25lbs.* Softball Scorekeepers: Using a traditional written scorebook, assist with keeping score of each softball game. *Prior knowledge of how to accurately complete a softball/baseball scorebook is required* All volunteers will receive a volunteer T-shirt and all shifts over four hours will be provided lunch. Special Olympics Florida is excited be hosting the State Swimming Championships in Sebastian, Florida on September 28th & 29th Hundreds of athletes from across the state will be competing and we need your help to make it a success! Special Olympics Florida replies almost exclusively on volunteers and cannot do what we do without you. Volunteers will assist with the following tasks: Check in athletes for competition and escort them to their lane assignments. Serve as timers for competition. Distribute results between the pool, competition HQ and awards locations. Assist with distributing lunch to volunteers and participants Assist with preparing and presenting awards. No knowledge of the sport is required and all training will be provided on-site. Volunteers should be at least 11 years old and all volunteers under 14 must be accompanied with a parent/guardian for the duration of the volunteer shift. All volunteers will receive a volunteer T-shirt as well as lunch during their shift. A record of community service hours can be provided if requested.
