Special Olympics Florida is excited to be hosting the State Bowling Championships at Boardwalk Bowl in Orlando on September 13-14!
Hundreds of athletes from across the state will be competing in this singles and doubles tournament and we need your help to make it a success. Special Olympics Florida replies almost exclusively on volunteers and cannot do what we do without you.
Volunteers will be assist with the following tasks:
- Check in athletes for competition and direct them to their lane assignments.
- Serve as Lane Monitors ensuring competition runs smoothly
- Distribute results between competition, competition HQ and awards locations
- Assist with distributing lunch to volunteers and participants
- Prepare and present awards to athletes following competition.
No knowledge of the sport is required and all training will be provided on-site. Volunteers will receive a volunteer T-shirt as well as lunch during their shift. A record of community service hours can be provided if requested.

Description
Special Olympics Florida provides sports training and Olympic-style competition to more than 60,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and developmental disabilities throughout the state. Special Olympics Florida is a Level I Accredited Program (highest level of accreditation granted by SOI) and is divided into 11 area programs, which cover over 55 counties.
