Special Olympics Florida is excited to be hosting the State Surfing Championships at Alan Shepard Park in Cocoa Beach Florida on August 23rd & 24th!
We are looking for Volunteers to assist with the following duties:
- Assist with event set-up and breakdown.
- Assist with checking in and staging Athletes for competition.
- Prepare and present Awards to Athletes.
- Assist with meal check-in and distribution.
No knowledge of the sport is required and all training will be provided on-site. Volunteers will receive a T-Shirt and volunteers whose shift is more than four hours will also be provided lunch. A record of community service hours can be provided upon request.
Volunteer shifts are recommended for those 11 years and older. Volunteers under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. If you are interested in volunteering with someone under the age of 11 please reach out to us so we can determine a right role for them!

Description
Special Olympics Florida provides sports training and Olympic-style competition to more than 60,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and developmental disabilities throughout the state. Special Olympics Florida is a Level I Accredited Program (highest level of accreditation granted by SOI) and is divided into 11 area programs, which cover over 55 counties.
