Clothing Bank Supervisor

Initiative: Beyond the Basics

Impact area: Basic Needs (food, clothing, housing)

Location: Hartford, CT

Hours: Wednesdays and Saturdays, 11:00am-1:00pm

Desired level of commitment: Twice a week

Duration: Year-round

Age requirement: 18+

Tasks may include:

  • Ensuring clients are signed in accurately
  • Ensuring policies and procedures are properly communicated
  • Ensuring clothing bank is organized and prepared for program times
  • Ensuring confidentiality with individuals is maintained (except when required by law to report
  • Ensuring work area is safe
  • Tapping into other donation sources

In order to volunteer you should be:

  • A registered UAServe volunteer (you will have a chance to register if you haven't already)
  • Willing to attend an orientation and training prior to volunteering
  • Willing to submit a background check
  • Open to an ongoing volunteer opportunity that works with your schedule
  • Committed to supporting diverse individuals in a community engagement setting
  • Able to express compassion and empathy for those living on a low income
  • Able to work independently
  • Able to use good judgment in sorting donations
  • Reliable
  • Honest
  • Patient
