Main Goals for this Position to Accomplish : The main goals of the Pinnacle volunteer) are to:

· Provide interpretation at the Pinnacle Overlook.

· Answer questions about places seen from the pinnacle, history of the park, and other related questions.

· Assist visitors with visitor needs by providing informal interpretation.

Brief Description of Work to be Performed: Under the supervision and guidance of Interpretation, Education, and Visitor Services (IEVS) Division staff:

· Complete an official Pinnacle training led by an experience staff member.

· Greet visitors as they arrive at the Pinnacle.

· Provide informal interpretation of the surrounding areas.

· Answer visitor questions, related to the Pinnacle and the park.

· Give short 5-10 minute Pinnacle programs about a topic of their choice, approved by the Volunteer Coordinator.

· Carry a park radio.

· Drive a government vehicle to the Pinnacle Overlook

· Use a park radio when necessary to communicate information to other park personnel, including Law Enforcement personnel in the case of an emergency.

· Rove to Fort Lyon and surrounding trails, answering visitor questions.

· Other duties as needed.
