ORGANIZATION: VETERAN PROJECT MANAGER MENTOR ALLIANCE

  1. Content Creation and Management: This is a broad and essential need for any nonprofit. Volunteers can assist with writing and editing blog posts, social media updates, newsletter content, website copy, and can even help gather stories and testimonials. This aligns with "Oversee the creation of marketing materials, digital content, and communication campaigns" and "Manage the organization's online presence, including social media and website."

  2. Social Media Management: Nonprofits greatly depend on social media for engagement and outreach. Volunteers can assist by scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, responding to comments, and helping to develop content calendars. This directly supports "Manage the organization's online presence, including social media..."

  3. Marketing Material Development/Graphic Design: Many nonprofits operate with restricted budgets for professional design services. Volunteers with graphic design skills can create visually appealing flyers, brochures, event banners, and social media graphics. This falls under "Oversee the creation of marketing materials..."

  4. Public Relations/Community Outreach Support: Volunteers can assist in drafting press releases, compiling media lists, and supporting community engagement events. This directly supports "Manage media relations and public outreach to promote the organization's mission and programs" and "Engage with stakeholders to foster community support and involvement."

  5. Data Entry and Administrative Support for Marketing: While not directly creative, efficient data management is crucial for marketing efforts (e.g., managing contact lists for newsletters, tracking engagement data). Volunteers can assist with these administrative tasks, which supports the overall effectiveness of marketing strategies and helps with "Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing and communications strategies."

About VETERAN PROJECT MANAGER MENTOR ALLIANCE

Location:

4299 S ELLESMERE ST, GILBERT, AZ 85297, US

Mission Statement

VPMMA is a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization that provides industry-based project management career mentorship and networking opportunities for our great Nation’s Service-Members, Veterans, and Military Spouses. Empower and equip military service members, veterans, and spouses to achieve project management career greatness through mentoring and professional development.

Description

In December 2017 Eric "Doc" Wright and Joe Pusz, PMO Joe started a proof of concept which eventually became VPMMA. A select few Veterans and Mentors connected to try to concept, pairing a Veteran seeking a career in Project Management with an experienced PM. The results were immediate and VPMMA was born.

The goal for VPMMA is to leverage the generous project management community to find Mentors willing to volunteer time to benefit Veterans, Servicemembers and Military Spouses. In short order, the support was overwhelming. Mentors from across the United States stepped up to serve those who have served us. Now is your turn to join us and give back some of your time to help a Veteran, Servicemember and Military Spouse.
