ORGANIZATION: USDA Forest Service

The Angeles National Forest (ANF) is seeking a US Permanent Resident or US Citizen to support the District office of the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument. We are looking for someone who loves working with people, has great customer service skills, and is able to work in an office environment. There is no lodging available for this position.


Location: The volunteer selected for this position will be located at the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument office located in Glendora, CA.


Schedule: Preference is for a volunteer who can generally commit to volunteering every Friday between 8:00AM and 4:30PM, schedule permitting. We'd love a year-round commitment, but if someone is only available for part of the year, we will consider rotating people.


Common duties may include, but is not limited to the following:

  • Opening and closing the office: Ensuring a smooth start and end to the workday for our team.
  • Answering phones and taking notes: Greeting callers and capturing essential messages with a friendly voice.
  • Meeting and assisting the public: Providing a welcoming and informative experience.
  • Directing inquiries to the appropriate staff: Knowing our team structure will be vital in connecting visitors with the right person for their needs.
  • Supporting office tasks as needed: Helping with administrative duties can be a great way to benefit the whole team.

A background check would be required for this role.
