Libertas Home is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing sex trafficking and supporting survivors of sexual abuse. Our mission is to create a safe and nurturing environment for survivors to heal, recover, and thrive. Through our program, Paws of Peace, we aim to provide emotional support dogs to sex trafficking survivors and survivors of sexual abuse, offering them companionship, unconditional love, and empowerment as they navigate their healing journey.

Job Description:

As a Program Manager for Paws of Peace at Libertas Home, you will play a vital role in leading and creating strategies for the successful implementation and development of the program. You will collaborate closely with the organization's leadership team, volunteers, and external stakeholders to ensure the program's effectiveness and impact. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee all aspects of the program, identifying weaknesses, addressing risks, and maximizing its potential to positively impact the lives of survivors.

Responsibilities Include:

Program Development and Strategy:

  • Work closely with the organization's leadership team to define the program's long-term vision, goals, and strategies.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive program plan, considering the specific needs and challenges of sex trafficking survivors and survivors of sexual abuse.
  • Continuously assess and refine the program based on feedback, research, and best practices in the field.
  • Collaborate with the organization's partners and stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective coordination.

Program Management and Oversight:

  • Oversee all operational aspects of the Paws of Peace program, including budgeting, resource allocation, and reporting.
  • Establish and maintain program policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistency and adherence to ethical and professional standards.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of volunteers, providing guidance and support in their roles.
  • Oversee the assessment of the program's progress, collect data, and develop metrics to evaluate impact and success.
  • Oversee periodic risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential challenges and threats to the program.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Foster strong relationships with external stakeholders, such as animal shelters, veterinary clinics, and community organizations, to facilitate the sourcing and training of emotional support dogs.
  • Collaborate with the organization's marketing and communication team to promote the program, raise awareness, and attract potential participants and sponsors.
  • Manage the representation of Libertas Home and the Paws of Peace program at meetings, conferences, and community events.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in program management, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse group of volunteers.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities, including budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Knowledge of issues related to sex trafficking, sexual abuse, and trauma-informed care.
  • Familiarity with animal-assisted therapy and emotional support animal programs is highly desirable.
  • Ability to think strategically, identify program weaknesses and risks, and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in data analysis and evaluation to measure program outcomes and impact.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and evolving nonprofit environment.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Libertas Home and a passion for supporting survivors of sexual abuse.

Duration:

  • This is a long-term volunteer position with a commitment of four hours per week. The exact duration can be discussed and negotiated during the application process. Some responsibilities can be delegated to program volunteers as needed.
