SAINT Transportation Driver- Fort Collins & Loveland

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Volunteers of America Northern Colorado Services

SAINT Driver:

SAINT serves people sixty years and older and people with disabilities that prevent them from diving in Fort Collins and Loveland. SAINT cannot provide transportation to individuals requiring wheelchairs or scooters.

SAINT operates within the city limits of Fort Collins and Loveland. SAINT cannot provide transportation between the two cities or outside the city limits of each city. SAITN provides transportation to any destination within our service areas for any purpose. While many of our rides are to medical providers, we also take clients to the grocery store, the hairdresser, the Senior Center, and places of employment or volunteer service, to name a few destinations. There is no charge for SAINT's services, but donations are appreciated.

Title- Driver

Need- Helping seniors and people with disabilities maintain their connection to the community through personal door-to-door transportation provided by volunteers within the cities of Loveland and Fort Collins.

Deliverables- Volunteers will be responsible for getting clients to and from their scheduled appointments safely and on time.

Key Responsibilities- SAINT requires authorization to obtain a driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles; serious infractions (e.g.: DUI or reckless driving) will disqualify a volunteer candidate. Familiarity with Loveland or Fort Collins is a great plus, but driving for SAINT is a great way to learn your way around town. Map reading skills also come in handy.

Qualifications- You can be a SAINT. All you need is a car, a driver's license with a clean driving record, and a desire to help your neighbors. Our volunteer opportunity is flexible- drive a regular schedule or drive occasionally as a backup. We do the scheduling, carry supplemental insurance, and reimburse you for your mileage.

Training and Support- Volunteers will be trained by SAINT staff and will be able to call at any time during hours of operation for questions and support.

Time Commitment- Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 8:15 am- 4 pm. Most of our volunteers choose to drive one morning or afternoon a week. Others choose the more flexible option of driving as a backup.
