Our Administration teams support our national projects by providing the resources, tools, and information needed to create extraordinary SPARK STEM experiences. We believe in educating, initiating, and innovating young lives today for tomorrow's social response to increasing statistics for girls and women in STEM careers and fields. Volunteer and administrative support is always needed to support our teams in every step of the way.

PT Entry-Level Internship Opportunity:

Preferred: High School students, College students, or Retirees

Major Responsibilities Duties:

  • Support administrative responsibilities for marketing activities with direction from the President.
  • Willing to learn and finish various assignments on time and within budget. Generate daily reports of activities status - pending, follow-up required, or completed.
  • Maintains activity calendar entries and special projects. Take appropriate action as necessary.
  • Prioritize incoming calls or email inquiries and set appointments for follow-ups.
  • Serve as point of contact for guidance and support initiatives.
Relationship management:
  • Develop school presence and keep ongoing communications live, active, and vibrant with school administrators and teachers.
  • Attend all meetings with the President of the National STEM Society via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or in person in Central Florida.
Marketing Events responsibilities:
  • Organize students, student volunteers, and volunteer others' support for startup activities (partnership meetings/events, STEM Ambassador Clubs, school participation, outdoor educational awareness projects, etc.) in Central Florida or North Georgia.
  • Complete forms, volunteer background checks, and information required for upcoming events.
Other responsibilities:
  • Proficient in Office 365 or willing to learn. Willing to learn Adobe, Windows, or Apple products.
  • Preference for high school or college interns who use Apple and/or Windows computers daily.
  • A GO-GETTER attitude, vibrant personality, and preferably a gift of gap (Being talkative is okay)!
  • Ability to be on call for specific events
  • Ability to work remotely or in person.
  • 10-15% travel required for this opportunity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health, & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
Your talents, abilities, and skills will be rewarded. Entry-level internship compensation can be discussed for college students.

High School or College Students
For ages 16 & up

All confirmed volunteers are required to complete child sexual abuse awareness training.

Submitting a volunteer application or inquiry does not guarantee placement as a volunteer. Candidates will be accepted on the event or program needs matched with the candidates’ qualifications to meet those requirements as determined during the selection process. Incomplete volunteer applications will not be considered for review. If a suitable volunteer opportunity is available when your application is submitted, you will be contacted by the Volunteer Coordinator. A volunteer interview/orientation, background check, and reference check (references for specific volunteer roles) will be required before any candidate can begin an assignment. All applications will be kept on file for one year.

All volunteers, staff members, and partners must complete a comprehensive background check.
Through our partnership with NCSI, the National Center for Safety Initiatives will perform each comprehensive background check (a nationwide county criminal search, federal, and two sex offenders registry searches) for $35. We ask all volunteers, staff members, and partners to contribute a $16 donation toward their background check at https://nationalstemsociety.org/how-do-i-donate/ on the website, enter a custom amount, and click donate. The National STEM Society will cover the remaining cost of $19.
