Role Description:

As a Volunteer CPA, you will be assisting in the oversight of the organization's financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. Depending on qualifications and your availability, your role may include managing year-end and quarterly reporting, financial records, preparing financial statements, overseeing budgeting and financial planning processes, and providing financial analysis and reporting to support organizational decision-making. You'll work closely with our leadership team to maintain financial transparency, accountability, and sustainability, helping to advance our mission of promoting health and happiness within our community.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license issued by the US state board of accountancy.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; advanced degree or additional certifications are a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance, with demonstrated expertise in nonprofit accounting and financial management.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) regulations.
  • Experience with nonprofit financial reporting, tax compliance, and audit preparation.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems, with the ability to effectively utilize technology to streamline financial processes and reporting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide strategic insights to support organizational goals.
