ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

Are you ready to make a difference in your community while gaining valuable skills and experiences? We have an incredible opportunity for local youth aged 15-20 to participate in service learning projects right here at the National Mall!

What's in Store:

  • Engage in impactful service projects within one of the nation's most iconic settings.
  • Collaborate with peers on meaningful initiatives that will develop and test your skills.
  • Develop specialized skills in 3D mapping and digital storytelling through a week-long workshop.
  • During this program, you'll commit 20-25 hours per week to service activities and workshops.

This is a chance to contribute to something special while learning valuable new skills. Through interactive storytelling and videography workshops, students will collaborate with CyArk team members and park interpreters to craft compelling narratives and visual content for the tours. Youth ambassadors will utilize previously collected 3D data of the monuments to create experiences that seamlessly incorporate student perspectives, park interpretation, and voices from the community. Throughout this project, students will acquire a multitude of valuable skills, including familiarity with 3D models and documentation processes, communication, curation, writing, public speaking, storytelling, research, community engagement, interviewing techniques, videography, audio recording, data management, and teamwork. In addition to this application, please submit a statement of interest as part of the Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities section.
