Role Description:

As the Grant Researcher/Writer, you will be responsible for identifying grant opportunities and writing compelling grant proposals to secure funding for our organization's initiatives focused on promoting health and happiness. Your role involves conducting research to identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other sources (or using your expertise to determine the best selections from an existing list of compiled grant opportunities), and then crafting well-written grant proposals that effectively communicate our organization's mission, programs, and impact. You will be provided all necessary information regarding the organization's mission, etc., but you will use your expertise in grant writing to compile the information in a manner that creates a competitive application. You'll work closely with our leadership team to develop funding priorities, gather necessary information, and submit timely and competitive grant applications.

Qualifications:

  • Strong research skills, with the ability to identify relevant grant opportunities and gather information from various sources, including online databases, foundation websites, and government portals.
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and programmatic concepts clearly and persuasively in grant proposals.
  • Familiarity with grant application processes, including grant requirements, guidelines, and submission deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with program staff, finance personnel, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and ensure alignment between grant proposals and organizational priorities.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and financial reporting concepts to develop accurate and compelling grant budgets and financial narratives.

Why Volunteer with AHHM?

  • Meaningful Cause: Contribute to a mission dedicated to health and happiness for all, with a focus on youth and marginalized communities.
  • Impactful Work: Your expertise will directly contribute to securing resources and enable us to make a difference in the lives of those we serve.
  • Professional Growth: Enhance your skills and professional resume within a nonprofit setting while working alongside the founder and president, Dr. Nita Landry, a board-certified OB/GYN and sought-after speaker, and author.
  • Flexibility: Enjoy the freedom of contributing remotely to AHHM's mission and at a schedule of your leisure.

We kindly request all our volunteers to commit a minimum of 3 months, aiming for a mutually beneficial experience. This approach allows volunteers the flexibility to reassess their commitment after the initial period, without feeling obligated to continue if their circumstances or desires change. By adopting this approach, both the volunteer and the foundation can ensure a more effective use of time and resources, avoiding potential disruptions to ongoing projects.
