Are you passionate about environmental conservation and eager to make a difference in your community? Santa Clara Valley Audubon Society (SCVAS) is seeking individuals to join our Board of Directors! SCVAS promotes the enjoyment, understanding, and protection of birds and other wildlife by engaging people of all ages in birding, education, and conservation. With over 1250 members and a century-long legacy, SCVAS offers a vibrant and rewarding environment to contribute your skills and expertise.

As a board member, you'll play a crucial role in guiding our organization's strategic direction and executing initiatives to protect our local birdlife and ecosystems.

We're particularly interested in candidates with experience in finance, fundraising, outreach, or online marketing, but all backgrounds are welcome!

The Santa Clara Valley Audubon Society promotes the enjoyment, understanding, and protection of birds and other wildlife by engaging people of all ages in birding, education, and conservation.

Description

SCVAS was founded in 1926 and is a chapter of the National Audubon Society. Our membership is composed of nearly 4000 individuals throughout Santa Clara County. Our chapter regularly hosts birding fieldtrips and monthly general meetings and publishes our monthly newsletter, the Avocet. Our two main areas of concentration are education and conservation. SCVAS provides environmental education opportunities both in the classroom (hands-on activities, games, slide shows) and out in the field (wetlands and woodlands fieldtrips). Our conservation programs focus on environmental advocacy throughout the county and beyond.
