The social media landscape has changed faster than organizations can keep up! Many nonprofits and others might have significant issues with X-twitter and other social media giants that have hate content on their sites, but do not know how to leave.

The volunteers at this project will work with senior people in the decentralized space, who want to help everyone have choices - and have an easy way to participate in Civ.works, Fediverse, Bluesky, or other open and decentralized social media, using simple standard icons and share buttons.

This is a little different than fighting the trolls of disinformation and hate directly, it helps well meaning organizations and entities avoid them. We have a small team of essentially free decentralization support folks, who offer to assist and guide organizations in leaving hate and disinformation filled spaces.

The concept of civ.works is to finally provide a societal machine to stand up against something created nearly 50 years ago -and begin the process of empowering citizens again. We are building a platform together -against an incredibly mature and well-funded machine. Your volunteer efforts will be helping us collectively build something powerful and important.
