ORGANIZATION
Compassus Hospice is seeking friendly, well-mannered, registered therapeutic pets to join our team. Together, with their compassionate handler our pet therapy volunteers bring peace and comfort to our hospice patients. Volunteers are a vital component of the hospice team and are greatly appreciated for the companionship and supportive presence that they provide to our patients nearing the end of life.
We have home patients as well as patients in assisted living facilities. The volunteer opportunity is flexible and based on your availability and the needs of the patient.

Mission Statement
We are inspired to provide innovative home-based, end-of-life care in Michigan that connects patients, families and caregivers in the most profound, healing ways.
Description
Compassus provides care state-wide through Michigan, including Borgess Health System, Genesys Health System, St. John Providence Health System, St. Joseph Health System and St. Mary’s of Michigan.
Many times the most healing setting for patients to receive their care is in the place they call home. While remaining at home at end of life can bring great comfort, it can also require professional care and support.
During those times, Compassus Hospice can make a profound difference in your life or the life of someone you love with our innovative and inspired care.
