If the pandemic has left you feeling a little lonely. Consider joining Echelon, The Salvation Army's emerging professionals (ages 21-40) service club. Echelon meets once or twice a month, in person, to volunteer, network and help raise funds for social issues.

Echelon is a branch of The Salvation Army’s local advisory board with the goal of mobilizing the next generation to engage with the organization through networking, fundraising, and volunteering.

What we are looking for: Currently we are looking for young leaders (ages 21-40) in the San Diego community with a passion for making an impact in today's most pressing social issues such as homelessness and food insecurity.

What we do: Echelon meets once or twice a month for volunteering, fundraising, and/or networking events.
Volunteering: members might help serve food at our monthly BBQ or assist in programs in our family shelter programs.
Fundraising: volunteers help raise funds to assist with programs such as back to school or senior nutrition.
Socializing: programs might include, group hikes, professional headshots, mixers.

Commitment:

  • Commit to one service event per month(~3 hours per month)
    • board members commit for a year and regular members 6 months.
