ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - National Headquarters

  • This position directly supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Service to the Armed Forces (SAF)/International Services Department (ISD) Quality, Data, and Learning (QDL) department. This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity. The Power BI Engineer provides support by designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports needed for the Response & Recovery team.


  • Responsibilities
    • Conduct research across various humanitarian networks.
    • Organizes, analyzes, and summarizes findings of research.
    • Create and maintain product analytics dashboards in Microsoft Power BI for Response & Recovery operations.
    • Scale processes for dashboard updates and metric monitoring, including aggregation of data sources and automation of metric calculations.
    • Write data queries to answer business questions and generate metrics.

Required:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer 100% virtually.
  • Demonstrated expert level of experience with Power BI
  • Demonstrated Salesforce experience, specifically relationships between objects
  • Strong writing skills and ability to translate information from multiple sources into easily understood text
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to receive feedback from multiple stakeholders
  • Possess significant computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Possess strong aesthetic sense (e.g. ability to produce polished and visually appealing images)
  • Willingness to learn new applications and provide feedback
  • Submission of Power BI dashboard work samples
  • Demonstrated experience with data collection and data entry
  • Strong and demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
  • Comfortable and adept at working independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Works well in teams and shows adaptability, initiative, and strong personal integrity
  • Experience working with sensitive information in a responsible manner
  • Ability to complete tasks and deliverables within a specific and firm deadline
  • Submission of resume
  • Willingness to comply with current public health and Red Cross policies
  • Must reside in the United States
