We are seeking a creative and strategic Social Media Manager to join our team and help us effectively leverage social media platforms to increase awareness, engagement, and support for our mission.

Role Overview: As the Nonprofit Social Media Manager, you will play a key role in developing and implementing our social media strategy to advance our organization's goals. You will be responsible for creating compelling content, managing social media channels, and engaging with our online community to foster relationships and drive action. This role offers an exciting opportunity to use your skills in social media marketing to make a meaningful impact and amplify our organization's reach and influence.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy to increase brand awareness, engagement, and support for our organization's mission and programs.
  • Create engaging and impactful content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others, that resonates with our target audience.
  • Manage and maintain our organization's presence on social media channels, including scheduling posts, responding to comments and messages, and monitoring trends and conversations.
  • Grow and nurture our online community by actively engaging with followers, supporters, partners, and influencers to foster meaningful relationships and drive action.
  • Monitor social media analytics and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of our social media efforts and make data-driven decisions to optimize performance.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends, best practices, and new tools and technologies in social media marketing, and incorporate them into our strategy as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including marketing, communications, and program staff, to align social media efforts with organizational goals and initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant news, events, and developments in the nonprofit sector and our areas of focus, and leverage them to inform our social media content and messaging.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field preferred NOT REQUIRED.
  • Proven experience in social media marketing, preferably in the nonprofit sector or a mission-driven organization.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices for organic and paid social media.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling and engaging content for diverse audiences.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and visual communication.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, draw insights, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with social media management tools, analytics platforms, and graphic design software is a plus.
  • Passion for our organization's mission and a desire to make a positive impact in the community.
