We rely on grants and funding opportunities to support our initiatives and make a positive difference in the community. We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Volunteer Grant Researcher/Writer to join our team and help us secure the resources needed to further our mission.

Role Overview: As a Volunteer Grant Researcher/Writer, you will play a vital role in researching potential grant opportunities, crafting compelling grant proposals, and assisting with grant reporting. You will work closely with our fundraising team to identify funding prospects and articulate our organization's impact and goals to potential funders. This volunteer position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in grant research and writing while making a meaningful contribution to our organization's success.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough research to identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other funding sources.
  • Review grant guidelines and requirements to ensure alignment with our organization's mission and programs.
  • Collaborate with program staff to gather information and data needed for grant proposals.
  • Write clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals that effectively communicate our organization's mission, objectives, and impact.
  • Compile supporting documents, such as budgets, financial statements, and program plans, to accompany grant proposals.
  • Assist with grant reporting requirements, including tracking grant deliverables, collecting data, and writing progress reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of grant submissions, deadlines, and outcomes in our database.

Requirements:

  • Excellent research skills with the ability to identify relevant funding opportunities.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and articulate complex ideas.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and internet research tools.
  • Previous experience in grant research, writing, or nonprofit fundraising is a plus, but not required.
  • Passion for our organization's mission and a commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
