Prepare and deliver 40 individually packaged, ready-to-eat meals for youth on a scheduled day. Groups are responsible for purchasing/preparing the meals and dropping off the meals between 3:00-4:00pm on the scheduled day. Please provide plates, utensils, and drinks if possible. Give us a call at 417-225-7489 to schedule a delivery day.

Want to serve the meal? Groups can now serve the meal onsite with some guidelines:

  • Dinner must be ready to serve at 4pm.
  • Up to 4 volunteers per group (our kitchen is small).
  • Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
  • Volunteers must have hair tied back and wear gloves.

Description

The Kitchen, Inc. brings stability and purpose to people who are homeless through housing and case management services. The Kitchen, Inc. has five programs aimed at ending homelessness:

  • Affordable housing developments provide 222 affordable housing units in the community
  • Emergency Shelter provides a safe place for folks to shelter before they can return to permanent housing
  • Community Housing helps families, individuals, youth, and seniors return to permanent housing and find long-term stability
  • Home At Last serves Veterans and their families who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless
  • Rare Breed Youth Services provides a variety of outreach and case management services to youth ages 13-24 years old.

  • Must be at least 18
  • There are 2 options to serve meals to Rare Breed. Option 1 is to deliver the meals only which should only take about 15 minutes. Option 2 is to help serve the meals to the kids, which is typically a 1-hour commitment.
