Prepare and deliver 40 individually packaged, ready-to-eat meals for youth on a scheduled day. Groups are responsible for purchasing/preparing the meals and dropping off the meals between 3:00-4:00pm on the scheduled day. Please provide plates, utensils, and drinks if possible. Give us a call at 417-225-7489 to schedule a delivery day. Want to serve the meal? Groups can now serve the meal onsite with some guidelines: Dinner must be ready to serve at 4pm. Up to 4 volunteers per group (our kitchen is small). Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Volunteers must have hair tied back and wear gloves.

The Front Desk Volunteer greets visitors, answer phones, and maintains a welcoming environment in the lobby. The volunteer must commit to a regular schedule with a minimum of 2 hours per week. Position Summary: The Rare Breed Donation Volunteer helps manage incoming donations to ensure items are sorted, organized, and made readily available to youth in need. This role is essential to maintaining a clean, respectful, and accessible donation area that allows young people to access clothing, hygiene products, and other essentials with dignity. Key Responsibilities: Sort and organize incoming donations (clothing, hygiene items, non-perishable food, etc.) Ensure donated items are clean, age-appropriate, and in good condition Stock and restock donation shelves and storage areas as needed Assist with tracking inventory and informing staff when specific items are low Help maintain a tidy, welcoming donation space for youth accessing services Uphold confidentiality and treat all participants and their needs with respect Qualifications: Must be at least 25 years old Comfortable with light physical tasks (e.g., lifting donation bags, bending, sorting) Attention to detail and a sense of organization Willingness to work independently or with a small team Time Commitment: Flexible shifts; minimum 2-hour commitment per visit preferred Rare Breed is open Monday - Friday, 9AM -5PM Tasks: Receive and document donations Sort and organize donations Restock supplies Clean and sanitize surfaces Sweep and mop as needed Other tasks assigned by the Youth Services Coordinator

This behind-the-scenes support helps ensure our space reflects the dignity and respect we want every young person to feel when they walk through our doors.
