About Coloured Art Studio

Location:

Mission Statement

Coloured Art Studio is a nonprofit program dedicated to harnessing the transformative power of a colourful arts education to cultivate healing, growth and enrichment. We go beyond simply teaching artistic skills; we aim to cultivate creativity, foster personal growth, and empower participants to become lifelong learners and active contributors to their communities. Through our diverse and culturally rich centered approach, we strive to nurture the minds, hearts, families, and communities that we serve, creating vibrant and dynamic learning environments where creativity and individuals thrive.

Description

Coloured Art Studio is a diverse collective of parents, teachers, activists, and artists passionate about the arts and committed to collaborative education. Born during the pandemic, we recognized the urgent need for students to express themselves creatively amidst adversity, especially in underserved communities. Despite challenges, our virtual program on Zoom thrived.

For four years, we've assessed art education accessibility across Los Angeles, bringing our curriculum and caring instructors to schools, centers, and events citywide. Our approach prioritizes enjoyment and aligns with California State Standards, emphasizing minority representation and holistic development, including SEL and empathy-building.

Our ultimate goal is to establish our own Art Studio and community space, serving as a new hub of creativity and love in and for our community.
