Volunteer Position Description - Social Media Intern

Mission: To inspire individual creativity and artistic expression through workshops in Italy, cultural exchange, and appreciation of the arts.

Project or position: Social Media Intern

As a social media intern, you'll likely be responsible for assisting with various tasks related to managing and maintaining an organization's social media presence. Here are some common responsibilities and tasks you might expect to perform:

  • Content Creation: Creating engaging content for various social media platforms such as Facebook. This could include writing posts, designing graphics, creating videos, or curating content from other sources.
  • Scheduling Posts: Using social media management tools to schedule posts in advance for optimal timing and consistency.
  • Community Engagement: Monitoring social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions, and engaging with followers by responding to questions, comments, and direct messages.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Tracking the performance of social media posts and campaigns using analytics tools provided by the platforms (e.g., Facebook Insights) or third-party tools. Analyzing data to identify trends, measure the effectiveness of campaigns, and provide insights for future strategies.
  • Research and Trends: Staying up-to-date with social media trends, algorithm changes, and best practices. Conducting research on competitors and industry trends to inform content strategy.
  • Campaign Support: Assisting with the planning, execution, and monitoring of social media promotional campaigns, including creating ad copy, selecting target audiences, and monitoring ad performance.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Working closely with other individuals such as Managing Director and Board Members to coordinate social media efforts with overall organizational goals and campaigns.
  • Content Curation: Finding and sharing relevant content from other sources that aligns with the organization's brand and interests.
  • Creativity and Innovation: Brainstorming and pitching new ideas for social media content, campaigns, and strategies to increase engagement and reach new audiences.
  • Learning and Development: Taking advantage of opportunities for learning and professional development in the field of social media marketing, including attending webinars, workshops, and industry conferences.

Remember, as an intern, you'll likely have the opportunity to learn and grow in the role, so don't hesitate to ask questions, seek feedback, and take on new challenges. Building practical experience and demonstrating your skills and enthusiasm can pave the way for future opportunities in social media or related fields.
